Scoring twice in an iconic final against the Netherlands, as Argentina won 3-1 to secure their first ever FIFA World Cup crown, Kempes became a living legend for his goalscoring exploits during a dream competition for one of the world's most football-mad nations. Away from the Albiceleste, the Bell Ville-born striker won two consecutive Pichichis during a long stint at Valencia but it's in the light blue and white of his national team that Kempes is best known.
