On 20 May each year, Cameroon celebrates its national day. Also known as Cameroon Republic Day or Cameroon Unity Day, the celebration fills the country’s people with pride and joy. It offers Cameroonians the opportunity to express their love for their nation and its flag, which was updated in 1975, when the former two stars were replaced by a large central star as a sign of unity. Cameroon’s national motto is Paix – Travail – Patrie (Peace – Work – Homeland).
