CELEBRATING HAITI INDEPENDENCE DAY
1st January each year marks Haiti Independence Day. On that day in 1804, Haiti officially became the world's Black replublic and now over 13 million Haitians around the world celebrate the landmark day each year.

A member of FIFA since 1934, CONCACAF since 1961 and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) since 1978, football has long been a unique force in binding Haiti together.

To celebrate this important milestone, all the Haitian communities around the world eat soup joumou on Independence Day, a symbol of freedom for the Haitian people.
